2025 Summer Gosford Blitz Open
The Summer Gosford Blitz Open is the first of the Big 3 tournaments hosted by Gosford Chess Club at the Central Coast Leagues Club.
"What an amazing time we all had on Feb 22 at the Central Coast Leagues Club Parkview Room with the Central Coast's first FIDE rated Blitz event!
In the end we had 58 players with 348 chess games being played on the day. There were around 30 spectators.
Attendees came from as far as Port Macquarie and Wollongong and everyone had a great time and were very impressed by the playing conditions. I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to the Central Coast Leagues Club for all their support and in particular for the use of their venue.
The event was won by FM Reyaansh Chakrabarty with a score of 10.5/12.
Gosford Chess Club members did very well with FM John Curtis coming outright 2nd in the Open. Well done. Braiden Cox and Patrick Christie tied for equal 1st in the Under 1900 and Jed Jermina & Robin Aldridge-Sutton winning best unrated prizes.
All members of the Gosford Chess Club Committee; Rod, Rick, Jackson, Allen, Rowan, Joel, Braiden, Patrick, and Leonard rose to the occasion. Thank you for all your hard work. I would also like to thank Gary for his support."
